Abstract: The individuals, belonging to all communities, categories and socio-economic backgrounds have recognized the meaning and significance of religions. The overall living conditions of the individuals are centred on religions. The tasks and activities that individuals undertake in their personal and professional lives are both complicated and manageable. Furthermore, these are put into operation in a shorter amount of time or can be more time-consuming; hence, the roles of religions are regarded as indispensable in preparing individuals satisfactorily. In this manner, individuals are augmenting information in terms of norms and values. Furthermore, religions impart information to individuals, helping them differentiate between various types of appropriate and inappropriate factors. These are regarded as the key to implementing all kinds of tasks and activities in a well-organised and disciplined manner. Furthermore, individuals need to be well-informed about the traits of morality and ethics. The religions impart information in terms of these traits. In addition, these are regarded as key not only in successfully executing job duties but also in developing mutual understanding with others. Therefore, it is of utmost significance for individuals to acquire a thorough understanding of the roles of religions in Indian society. The primary concepts examined in this research paper are the understanding of the roles of religions in Indian culture and the benefits of acknowledging these roles.

Abstract: Migrant workers face hardships in accessing better living conditions such as housing, water supply, and sanitation facilities. This is highly prevalent among construction workers and other manual labourers working in the manufacturing and service sectors. They live in poor conditions and face the threat of displacement and eviction. These people are vulnerable to harassment, especially women labourers and their children, who are often the victims of trafficking and begging. Migrants also bear harsh conditions like long working hours, the nature and toughness of the work, and are prone to injuries, without any medical benefits. They are neglected and isolated, without access to social security benefits. This paper aims to examine the policy issues related to housing for migrant workers and the challenges in their governance. To this end, this paper analyses the provisions about migrant workers in the Urban Housing Policy 2007, the National Urban Rental Housing Policy 2015, and the social housing policies of different state governments, as well as the various schemes supporting them. This policy analysis builds on the appropriate governance arrangements that can foster equitable, inclusive, and sustainable policies to address the issues faced by migrant workers.

Abstract: In Bangladesh, one of the world’s poorest nations, a significant share of the deprived inhabitants are elderly women who live in rural regions with little access to healthcare. The primary goal of this investigation was to analyse the determinant of healthcare services for aged women in rural Bangladesh. This study employed a survey research method, utilising an interview schedule. It was carried out in four villages in the Satkhira district. It was followed by purposive sampling, and a sample size of 260 was selected. The study revealed that 53.1 percent of the respondent took medical help promptly during the time of illness. Besides this 73.1 percent of the respondent took medical care from a qualified doctor and only 42.2 percent of the respondent get the old allowance. However, the nature of the treatment was influenced by the distance to a health facility (p < .001) and the response to seeking healthcare (p < .001). The results indicate that the head of the household’s year of schooling (p = 0.001) and monthly household income (p = 0.001) had a significant relationship with the response to seeking healthcare

Abstract: This paper explores the representation of trauma and depression in popular culture and literature, with a focus on Sylvia Plath’s novel, “The Bell Jar.” The study delves into the portrayal of traumatic experiences and their psychological impact, drawing on trauma theory in literature, an interdisciplinary field incorporating psychology, sociology, and cultural studies. Addressing the evolving societal discourse on trauma and depression, the paper examines how literature, film, music, and television contribute to a more open discussion of these once-taboo subjects. It emphasizes trauma’s diverse forms, ranging from explicit events like war and abuse to subtler forms such as neglect. The universality of trauma is explored, demonstrating its lasting effects on mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. In particular, the research focuses on trauma theory in literature, analyzing how authors use their works to shed light on human experiences and social issues. The narrative techniques employed, such as flashbacks and symbolism, provide nuanced representations of the complex effects of trauma. Moreover, the paper considers the role of characters who have experienced trauma in shaping narratives and exploring psychological effects like depression and anxiety. Sylvia Plath serves as a key case study, with a detailed exploration of her life and works. Born in 1932, Plath’s writing is characterized by its darkness, intensity, and confessional nature, reflecting her struggles, including the death of her father and her battles with mental health. Her novel, “The Bell Jar,” published in 1963, is a focal point for examining the profound impact of trauma on an individual’s life. This research contributes to the broader field of trauma theory in literature, offering insights into how writers and readers engage with traumatic experiences, emphasizing the importance of cultural and historical contexts. Ultimately, the study enhances our understanding of the human experience through the lens of trauma and depression in literature.

Abstract: In both urban and rural communities throughout the country, there are senior citizens. They hold the viewpoint that in old age, they aspire to engage in various types of tasks and activities, which would facilitate the promotion of the well-being of family and community members. The functions and activities are put into operation in personal and professional lives. For example, when senior citizens prepare their favourite food items for family members in their personal lives, they experience feelings of pleasure and contentment. On the other hand, in their professional lives, they are involved in various tasks and activities that promote well-being and goodwill among community members. For example, in the education field, they still take classes and impart information on academic subjects and lesson plans to individuals, thereby rendering a productive contribution. Furthermore, senior citizens impart information on various subjects and concepts, which facilitates the emergence of moral and ethical human beings and productive citizens of the country. Therefore, it is widely acknowledged that the productive contributions of senior citizens are crucial in promoting the wellbeing of families and communities. The main concepts considered in this research paper are understanding the meaning and significance of productive contribution, identifying factors that highlight the productive contribution of senior citizens, and measures to be implemented in augmenting productivity among senior citizens.

Abstract: The psychology behind internet memes is complex and multi-faceted, drawing on various aspects of human behaviour and cognitive processes. Memes have become an integral part of social media culture, and their popularity continues to grow in India. The analysis of internet memes can provide valuable insights into the cultural, social, and psychological aspects of our online lives. In the field of media psychology, the impact of memes on human behaviour and cognition is a growing area of research. Researchers are investigating how memes can influence social attitudes, as well as the psychological mechanisms underlying their popularity and dissemination. Media psychology and memes are both critical areas of study that shed light on how communication occurs in contemporary society. By examining the relationship between media messages and the psychological processes that underlie them, we can gain a better understanding of how communication shapes our attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours. In the context of memes, the emotions evoked by a meme can be amplified through its spread and can have a significant impact on public opinion and discourse. Based on qualitative analysis, the paper employs the Social Cognitive Theory, along with the Uses and Gratifications Theory, to decode the manifestation of memes in our social system and the creation of echo chambers.

Abstract: The spontaneity of the Quit India Movement has been discussed throughout the literature as a sudden reaction, in comparison to other Nationalist movements that preceded the event. On the contrary, however, certain instances do proceed to limit this understanding of the movement as merely a reaction, thereby providing insight into the specific logical planning behind the movement as such. The current write-up aims to bring both discussions into a unified perspective of analysis, thereby enhancing understanding and, in turn, furthering the debate on the movement above.
