Abstract: Mongols had been a constant problem for the Sultans of Delhi. During Alauddin Khalji’s reign, there were in all six major invasions. The Sultan took strong action against them. His brae general, Zafar Khan, who had become a terror for them gave strong resistance to them. While fighting with them at Kili, Zafar Khan lost his life. This brave general displayed great sense of loyalty for the Sultan as well as for his country by rejecting a greater rank offered by the Mongol general in his country.

Abstract: To analyze if the inclusion and exclusion system in our society is fair. A few bodies born with a different design, unlike the majority are brought under the category of the ‘disabled.’ It has been a human tendency from time immemorial to keep such people hidden or shied away. Such individuals are devoid of the daily lifestyle of the ordinary people. This isolation leaves a great impact on the physical and mental growth of the individual resulting in further damages in the personality. Socialization becomes lesser or completely barred. Hence such individuals are born, live and die in seclusion. The human inclination of stereotyping them has always resulted in the denial of their rights. Martin creates a reflection of society with many disabled characters and how they are treated. The central characters like Bran, Tyrion and Jamie and others as Varys, Hodor, Maester Aemon, Shireen, Patch face, Ghost etc. all are with limited biological functions and are treated differently. In the present paper, the researcher makes a study on this attitude of the society and weigh the justification for the same. Ironically, almost all these characters prove to have their own ingenuity in their lives. Some even prove to be abler than their respective counterparts. So, the question is “should they be kept in seclusion?” Can the inclination of the world to isolate them be justified? Does the world belong only to the majority “Normals?” This paper concludes that it is not. The world cannot be complete without them as it possesses a heterogenous population demanding equal inclusion of every category.

Abstract: What exactly does the Shilpkar exist? The existence of the Shilpkar is his own identity. Identity has two meanings, it refers to the social categories on the one hand, while on the other hand it refers to the sources of self-esteem or dignity of the individual. By whom and by what criteria will the Shilpkar’s existence and identity be determined? The Shilpkar’s existence and identity has passed through various stages in a long struggle journey, where he has to struggle step by step for his name and identity. In this long struggle journey from Vedic Damuna to Shilpkar, he has not only been excommunicated by many hateful and derogatory names, but has also had to remain isolated from the society.

Keywords: Shilpkar, Identity, Existence.

Abstract: The world is living in crucial times of climate change with an adverse impact on our planet. It is therefore vital for everyone to understand the implications of being ignorant of the causes of climate change. The need for increasing awareness is greater now than ever before, and the best means available for this is through extensive use of social media. The proliferation of social media tools in this information age is tremendous. The effect of popular social media platforms like Facebook and its patterns of usage by university students need to be investigated. The global outreach of various platforms of digital media is unparalleled. Social media could be a desirable platform to fight against all the odds in climate change. This study investigates the usage patterns of Facebook as an agent to tackle climate change amongst the university students in Assam. The study is exploratory in nature and executed through a quantitative research methodology. The data is collected by employing survey method with close ended questionnaire as its research tool. This study analyses the opinions drawn from 100 university students studying in various universities in Assam. The data has been taken through snowball sampling technique and measured with Likert Scale. It is pertinent to understand the level of awareness of the university going students about climate change. Perhaps, this is high time to analyse the usage patterns of Facebook by university students and spell out the rationale behind its effectiveness in fighting against climate change.

Abstract: While the idea of gender-responsive budgeting has piqued the imagination of individuals all around the world, it is a relatively new phenomenon in Bangladesh. This budgeting technique has been stressed in Bangladesh’s previous four National Budget speeches. The government is prioritizing it in order to distribute government funding to all parts of society, especially women. The goal of this research is to establish the level of gender-responsive budgeting at the Union Parishad (UP) and its impact on the responsiveness of UP services, with a focus on health care. Furthermore, it strives to highlight at the union level the opportunities and challenges of gender-responsive budgeting in the health industry. Timeliness in service delivery and level of satisfaction of the service recipients were measured. The impact of gender responsive budgeting, and local political control on budget for UP health services is analyzed. ‘The study considers the amount of allocation, flow of fund, continuity of budgetary allocation, responsiveness in service delivery, level of satisfaction of women and level of local autonomy as independent variables to know what services are being provided along with their impacts. The study has opted for a mixed method for data collection and analysis including survey, interview from primary sources along with secondary literature. The study found that most of the local people don’t avail health service from Union Parishad and their expectation is not reflected in service delivery or the UP Plan and budget. Timeliness of service delivery and access to information were also major issues. All UP members were not aware of the allocation amount for women’s health issue despite 50% UP members saying consultation with women happens before preparing budget. Overall, the study finds that the budgets are not gender sensitive and there is no priority setting of the budget in health sector It recommends training for the UP officials and government initiatives 10 adopt and implement gender responsive budgeting at the union level.
